It's flexible, so you can bend it slightly to line up with an uneven floor. It's used to hide the edges of a hardwood floor, and to close the gaps between the floor and the baseboards. Quarter round is literally a quarter of a round dowel. Please visit my disclosures page for more information. So instead of going through all that back breaking work, I'm going to remove all the quarter round trim and replace it with a pre-primed version that will make finishing so much easier!
THE LONG DARK PRY BAR FULL
The corners and edges are separating, and it's full of dents and scratches (the baseboards don't look much better, but that's a project for another day!) I'd rather not spend a week on the floor priming and painting that little bit of trim, especially when it's not in the greatest shape to begin with. It takes multiple coats of primer and paint to block the tannins from bleeding through the paint and turning everything orange! I learned my lesson about the tannins in oak when I painted my kitchen cabinets. It doesn't quite match the hardwood floors, and it certainly doesn't match the baseboards! Since the day we bought our house, I've wanted to do something about this dated quarter round trim.

If you' re on the fence, just buy it. I never would have guessed I was living in the dark ages until I tried this. I mean how good could it be? But I bit the bullet and a week later bought the other size too. When I first saw this I thought it was way too much money. There is a learning curve, in that u will knock the wrench out of the keyway at first, keep practicing, once u get used to it, that will no longer happen, and there is a noticeable difference in what you will be able to open
THE LONG DARK PRY BAR SERIES
Much better than using 2 tension wrenches, such as on American series locks. I highly recommend anyone involved in locksport to try the 3 different sizes available here, as they make a world of a difference in feedback and more room in the keyway. You' ve made it an easy choice for where to buy quality tools at reasonable prices.

It works very well for me and I fully intend to get the thinner sizes as well. Its the kind of quality I expect to last a lifetime. This also reduces the tooth projections, but they still lock in nicely. Thanks for understanding.īut we are tumbeling them longer to reduce the nub somewhat. If you find it to be objectionable, it is easily filed off to your specific standards. As less than 1% have ever mentioned it to us we feel it would be unfair to raise our costs (and prices) for the other 99% of our customers. If we were to take the time to file it at the factory we would have to pass on that extra operation's cost to purchasers. Most of our customers don't find any issue with this small inconsistency one one side of the otherwise perfectly straight edges of the tool. Our polishing tumbler rounds and smooths this tab to a very small smooth rounded lump typically protruding out of the side about 0.015 (15 thousandths, about the thickness of a matchbook cover). This is the remnant from a "laser tab" created to hold the part in the sheet when the parts are laser cut. Please Note: These tools have a small "nub" midway on one side of the approximately 0.156 wide central width of the tool. This strong-arm partner is notched to eliminate contact with the first pin, flat to fit in your pick set, and has our serrated edge technology that locks it in any key way! Made of our famous Government Stainless Steel: only the best, of course! At 0.050," our "Serrated Pry Bar" is the width of the key blade segment of most key ways. GREAT FOR TOP OF KEY WAY PICKING The Peterson Pry Bar is for the many locksmiths who requested a strong and solid tension tool for applying "top of the key way" tension.
